Upendra R. Pai, President of Amisource Inc. met with Ontario
Premier Dalton McGuinty and George Smitherman, Minister of
Long Term Care & Health during a convention in Ottawa on
June 14th 2008. Premier McGuinty, the dynamic Premier of
Ontario, has been the leading figure in the Ontario
political scene since 2003. He has championed a number of
initiatives that have considerably strengthened Ontario,
from it's infrastructure to it's economics. Steering Ontario
through the recent economic downturn, Premier McGuinty has
continuously shown his support for Canadian small
businesses.
In a recent meeting at the International Congress Center in
Ottawa, Mr. Upendra Pai showed his support for Premier
McGuinty. Premier McGuinty appreciated Mr. Pai's comments
and thanked him for his support to the Government. Mr. Pai
also had an opportunity to commend Minister Smitherman on
his successful efforts to reduce wait times in hospital
emergency rooms across the province. This improvement in ER
wait times is just one facet of Minister Smitherman's
ambitious efforts to improve health care delivery in
Ontario. George Smitherman is Ontario's longest serving
Minister of Health and Long Term and manages approximately
half of the Province of Ontario's budget. Mr. Pai said "We
are proud to support the efforts of our Government in their
ambitious plans to improve the quality of life for the
residents of Ontario. We realize the task is not easy but we
will work with the Government in order to help them achieve
this goal."
